The body guard hypothesis has already been debunked my man[edit source]
Girls are linearly less attracted to extremely tall men. (Every inch above 6ft) Despite the tallest men, being the most status, (the best bodyguards). That is just one instance though of there being a curvilinear relationship with attractiveness and dominance. IE. the most dominant guy is attractive but not the most attractive.

Even Though Chad is just good looking, Chad could be a decent bodyguard, however women do not select for the best possible bodyguard. IE a 7ft 2 inches tall bodybuilder[edit source]

the most dominant man (highest status) would be a king, cult leader, leader among men, dictator, general, etc. and have his pick of the women, the women would have no choice. - In modern society, they could hook up with less dominant men, but they don't. E.g. career women are not rarely single because they cannot date up. This is clearly their decision, not because nobody is interested. This proves they are not merely chosen, but it is their own preference that coincides with the mechanism of men choosing them.
