Discretionary sanctions

Discretionary sanctions, on the English Wikipedia, are a set of rules of engagement that apply to articles that the Arbitration Committee considers battleground articles in need of rigorous enforcement to defend against problematic edits that might go against political correctness. These can include, for example, a sysop's summarily banning a user from a given topic, after giving him one vaguely ominous warning that he has edited a topic subject to discretionary sanctions. An increasing number of broad topics on Wikipedia are subject to discretionary sanctions; e.g. GamerGate and related articles, including feminism and incel-related topics.
